Saturday Night Shaleshudes
Shaleshudes — The Third Meal of Shabbos Saturday Evening • 6:30 PM
There is something deeply sacred about Shaleshudes — that quiet, unhurried third meal of Shabbat, shared between the fading afternoon light and the close of a holy day. It carries special significance as it fulfills the mitzvah (“commandment”) to eat three meals on the Sabbath — a beautiful obligation that has drawn Jewish families together around the table for generations.
It is a moment that generations of Jewish families have gathered for, voices soft, the week’s busyness set aside, simply present with one another.
This year, at the heart of our Kum a Heim weekend, we invite you to experience that timeless feeling together.
Join us Saturday evening at 6:30 PM for a beautiful spread that honours tradition while celebrating the joy of reunion. Our table will be filled with an array of fresh salads, fine cheeses, a generous fruit display, hand-crafted vegetarian charcuterie boards, creamy hummus, and a selection of sweets — and more — lovingly prepared for an evening of warmth and togetherness.
We are delighted to feature a special rosé wine from Noaska Winery, nestled in the heart of Claire, New Brunswick — a lovely local touch for a celebration rooted in community. NOASKA wines are certified kosher by the Kashruth Council of Canada (COR) and are vegan and gluten free. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
Sara Greenblat will be speaking about her recent trip to Darbenai (Darbyan).
When: Saturday, August 1, 2026, Time: 6:30pm
